The department offers a range of courses for students who are interested in pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Multimedia Design.Įstablished in 1961, Highline College is a comprehensive community college providing certificates as well as associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in high-quality academic transfer pathways, workforce training, and Adult Basic Education. ![]() The Multimedia Design Department is a collaborative group of faculty who stress best practices in teaching and learning. This position is expected to begin in Fall Quarter, September 2023. HC Multimedia Design faculty teach an equivalent of 15 credits per quarter, advise students, and participate in College service. Candidates representing all aspects of diversity are encouraged to apply. We strive to cultivate a welcoming and supportive learning environment for our diverse students, including a significant number of students who transition from our very large non-credit ESL program to credit-bearing certificate and degree programs. HC faculty value self-reflective practice and continued professional growth. HC welcomes faculty with a commitment to excellence in teaching and the success of all students. Candidates should be able and excited to teach a range of pre-production, production, post-production courses in a variety of software e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the Adobe Suite, as well as, courses in storytelling, the design process, and general courses in light, sound, and music. The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to use equity-minded approaches to teaching and learning for racially, ethnically, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse students, including designing curriculum, pedagogy, and assessments relevant to students valuing what students already know and empowering students to demonstrate knowledge in multiple ways as appropriate for the discipline(s) or program(s).
